Wilder-12 is a Student Recruitment and Event Center at the top of the tallest building on the campus of the University of Memphis. The project converts former library book stack storage space into what has become the first impression for many visitors and prospective students on their first visit to campus.
This space offers the user the ability to see the entire campus from one vantage point. The industrial undertones of the design are inspired by the spirit of the City and the University - hard working, vibrant, tough, hospitable, and resilient. The design of Wilder-12 is meant to align with those qualities. University colors are prevalent and set against a backdrop of exposed structure, conduit, piping and other utilitarian devices.
